How we protect and use your information

Who we are

At Morris Armitage we do all we can to respect your right to privacy and the protection of your personal information. This is a summary of what we do with your information in order to run our business and provide our customers with products and services. Morris Armitage is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected in accordance with the law, and all personal information shall be held and used in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 25th May 2018. The information we use and where we get it from

When you enquire or register for products and services provided by Morris Armitage. The sales negotiators will collect and process various types of personal information, including basic information such as name and contact details, and information about financial circumstances accounts and transactions. Most of your information will have been provided by you, or created through your use of our products and services. We also collect information from the technology you use when dealing with us and from third party organisations (such as other companies, credit reference agencies and public sources). Where permitted by law, we may process information about criminal convictions or offences and alleged offences for specific and limited activities and purposes, such as to perform checks to prevent and detect crime, to comply with laws relating to money laundering, fraud, terrorist financing, bribery and corruption, and for European sanctions.

Your rights

We keep your information confidential and will only share your information outside of Morris Armitage for the purposes mentioned in our privacy notice. This may include sharing with third parties such as board erectors, contractors, services and utility providers, credit reference (in the case of our lettings division) and fraud prevention agencies and law enforcement agencies or regulators.

Marketing

We will not send you marketing information relating to products and services that we think would be of interest and or relevant to you unless you have opted to receive such information when registering to our newsletter online. If you change your mind and no longer want to receive these communications you can tell us at any time by contacting us. If you are registered with us a sales or lettings applicant and where an email address has been provided, communication will be sent to you automatically by DezRez Services (our software provider) explaining your rights and marketing options.

How we protect your information

General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 25th May 2018 . We follow strict security procedures to ensure that personal information is not damaged, destroyed or disclosed to a third party without your permission and prevent unauthorised access to your information. The Information that we collect is stored in a secure facility with restricted physical access. We also use a number or security measures to prevent electronic access. Where information is shared with third parties in line with this policy similar security measures are used to protect your information. The access and use of the information that we collect is restricted to our employees who need the information to perform a specific job role or activity. How long we keep your information

We don’t keep your information for longer than we need to, which is usually up to six years after your relationship with Morris Armitage ends, unless we are required to keep it longer (for example due to a court order or investigation by law enforcement agencies and regulators).

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure with us and with third parties who act on our behalf. We use tools to make sure that your information remains confidential and accurate in order to protect you and us. This includes a confidential waste collection service using a third party, fully regulated organisation.
